
Prof. Benjamin W. Wah

Benjamin W. Wah is currently the Provost and Wei Lun Professor of Computer Science and Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also serves as the Chair of the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong. Before then, he served as the Director of the Advanced Digital Sciences Center in Singapore, as well as the Franklin W. Woeltge Endowed Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of the Coordinated Science Laboratory of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, in 1979. He has received a number of awards for his research contributions, which include the IEEE CS Technical Achievement Award (1998), the IEEE Millennium Medal (2000), the IEEE-CS W. Wallace McDowell Award (2006), the Pan Wen-Yuan Outstanding Research Award (2006), the IEEE-CS Richard E. Merwin Award (2007), the IEEE-CS Tsutomu Kanai Award (2009), and the Distinguished Alumni Award in Computer Science of the University of California, Berkeley (2011). Wah's current research interests are in the areas of big data applications and multimedia signal processing. Wah cofounded the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering in 1988 and served as its Editor-in-Chief between 1993 and 1996, and is the Honorary Editor-in-Chief of Knowledge and Information Systems. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Information Sciences, International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools, Journal of VLSI Signal Processing, and World Wide Web. He has served the IEEE Computer Society in various capacities, including Vice President for Publications (1998 and 1999) and President (2001). He is a Fellow of the AAAS, ACM, and IEEE.

Prof. Di Wu

Di Wu is a Professor and Associate Dean in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. He received the B.S. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2000; the M.S. degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2003; and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, Hong Kong, in 2007. During 2007-2009, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering (previously Polytechnic Institute of NYU), advised by Prof. Keith W. Ross. He was also working closely with Prof. Yong Liu and Prof. Joel Wein. He was the co-recipient of IEEE INFOCOM 2009 Best Paper Award and IEEE Jack Neubauer Memorial Award, 2019.
He has served as the Media Streaming IG Chair (2014-present) of IEEE Communications Society Multimedia Communications Technical Committee, the Vice Chair of the 21th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud and Internet Computing (CCGrid 2021), the TPC Co-chair of IEEE GLOBECOM-CCSNA Workshop 2014. He has also served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, the Guest Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, and the Editor of a number of SCI-indexed journals, such as Springer Telecommunication Systems, Peer-to-Peer Networking and Applications, Security and Communication Networks, etc. His research interests include edge/cloud computing, distributed learning, multimedia networking, Internet measurement, and educational big data. He is a Distingished Member of CCF, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Member of ACM and Sigma Xi.

Prof. Jia Chen

Jia Chen received the master degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering, with a specialization in robot vision, from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2007 and 2012, respectively.,He was a lead Research and Development Engineer with Samsung Research Institute (Beijing). After that, he was with Central China Normal University. From 2017 to 2018, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Centre for Vision, Speech, and Signal Processing, the University of Surrey, Guildford, U.K. He is currently an Associate Professor with Digital Media Technology and is with the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, CCNU, Wuhan, China. His current research interests include VR/AR, 3-D reconstruction, 3-D motion capture, and educational information technology.
